Body is of place most old in the civilizations. What would be of society without the body? Without he the histories not be talked? However, that bodies can talk yourself? The questions are present, one time that seek us answers. The body is the core of center of universe that it’s across. Through him we can understand social questions, be it in your visuality or in invisibility. However, the body is/was one of center elements for the formation of colonialism and capitalism Eurocentric and Americanism of North. These two classes we will go to discussion the body, while place theoretical, sedimented in theory body a concept under development. Whether reading or felling. Indianapolis, USA.
(Speake/Lecturer) What did they do with the body? Indianapolis, USA.
The body is one of the oldest sites within civilizations. What would society be without the body? Without it, would stories not be told? But which bodies can speak for themselves? These questions are present as we seek answers. The body is at the heart of the universe that passes through it (Le Breton, 2018). Through it, we come to understand social issues, whether in its visibility or invisibility. However, the body has been and remains one of the central elements in the formation of Eurocentric colonialism and capitalism, as well as North American Americanism. In these two classes, we will discuss the body as a theoretical space, a concept that is developing through theory, whether by reading about it or experiencing it.
(Org & Curator) Afropessimism in Brazil. SESC CPF – Research and Training Center. São Paulo, Brazil.
Title: Afropessism in Brazil: reception, dialogue and perspectives. In this lecture series, we aim to reflect on the reception of Afro-pessimism in Brazil and its relationships with Afro-Brazilian black thought, the diaspora, and even other critical perspectives within radical black thought in the United States, not necessarily aligned with Afro-pessimism.
For this reflection, we have invited a multidisciplinary group of researchers and artists from anthropology, history, literary studies, and performance fields, capable of reflecting from various angles on this hemispheric conversation. The publication of “Afropessimismo” (2021) by Frank B. Wilderson III and other works by authors such as Fred Moten, Saidiya Hartman, Christina Sharpe, Cedric Robinson, among others, marks a significant and massive arrival of Black radical thought in Brazil. How has this production been received and engaged with in the Brazilian context?
